It’s mid-August and that means we’ve got about one good month of summer left. Now is the time to take advantage of those end-of-season sales! During these times, I like to purchase clothes and products that I’ll be able to wear for the next few weeks as well as into other seasons and future years. Items that are timeless in style and and unspecific to trends are always a good investment into building your sustainable wardrobe. Here are my top slow-fashion sale items of the season:
DRESSES: While summer is clearly the season for dresses, I find that they often carry well into later seasons as well; throw a jacket over or layer jeans underneath and you can easily wear them as pops of color in the fall or spring. These dresses are light in color and would compliment an assortment of neutrals. Pinstripes, while very in-season this summer, are a classic pattern that instantly add length to the body.
BOTTOMS: These bottoms caught my eyes because of the subtle yet dramatic flair that they offer. If I’m going to splurge on a bottom, I’d rather it be a stand-out statement piece because statement bottoms are underrepresented in everyday style. A bonus factor is that both skirts have pockets!
ACCESSORIES: These accessories were so chic that I HAD to share them. The leather shoes and pouch, while not vegan, are sourced ethically, will wear well over time and last for quite a while. The headband’s a cute summertime touch and come on, it’s only five bucks!
SWIM: If I had to buy a new swimsuit, I would buy one of these. My body shape is a ruler and so I typically shop for slim and sleek designs. That being said, these swimsuits would probably do a poor job of supporting ladies with larger busts.
